Certification
STL recognizes change as a positive factor for development and constantly adopts new techniques and adjusts its logistics strategy to remain competitive. Quality Control is an essential ingredient of STL’s strategy for the enhancement of its products and services. STL is an ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management Systems) and ISO 22000:2018 (Food Safety Management Systems) certified company. STL’s ISO slogan is ‘Observe, Measure, Analyse and Innovate’.
STL has also acquired RAINFOREST ALLIANCE certification. RAINFOREST ALLIANCE CERTIFIED means that the product (or a specified ingredient) was produced by farmers, foresters, and/or companies working together to create a world where people and nature thrive in harmony.
STL has also acquired Halal certification. A Halal certification is a guarantee that the food is prepared adhering to the Islamic law and is unadulterated.
STL has also acquired Fairtrade certification. Fairtrade changes the way trade works through better prices, decent working conditions and a fairer deal for farmers and workers in developing countries. The key objectives of the Fairtrade Standards are to: ensure that producers receive prices that cover their average costs of sustainable production.
STL has also acquired USDA organic certification. USDA organic certification indicates that a product has been grown and manufactured in a sustainable and safe way. USDA certified organic foods are grown and processed according to federal guidelines addressing, among many factors, soil quality, animal raising practices, pest and weed control, and use of additives.
FOOD SAFETY POLICY
Sondhi Trading Limited (STL) sources coffee and tea regionally and supplies this produce, regionally and internationally. STL shall ensure food safety in the food products STL trades, by adhering to statutory, regulatory and its customers’ requirements.
To achieve the above, STL management shall ensure that:
- STL communicates its policies and practices to its employees.
- STL communicates externally up and down the food chain any issues concerning food safety.
- STL implements and maintains its food safety policies.
- STL sources its food from safe and authorized suppliers.
- STL’s suppliers of goods and services are aware of the importance of complying with food safety standards in support of STL’s logistical operations.
- STL’s informs, trains, and provides its employees with the knowledge and tools required to perform their work in a hygienic manner in compliance with prevailing industry and ISO 22000 standards.
- STL reviews and monitors its food safety systems continuously to comply with food safety standards.
STL shall comply with the food safety requirements of ISO 22000.
